From the Arctic to Baja California: A Seasonal Adventure Awaits!
Welcome back to Baja! This season, we’re trading the icy waters of the Arctic for the warm embrace of Baja California. Our passion for marine life knows no bounds, and we simply couldn’t wait for another winter season. So, we’re swapping aquavit for tequila and setting our sights on new aquatic adventures.
BAJA EXPEDITION - MEXICO
Local Partnerships for a Sustainable Journey
In our quest to bring you closer to the wonders of the marine ecosystem, we’ve teamed up with a local company that shares our deep respect and passion for wildlife. Together, we’re working hand-in-hand with the community, including local fishermen who offer invaluable insights into the marine environment. Our joint efforts are aimed at promoting local development, contributing to scientific research, and educating both locals and visitors about marine conservation. For this season, we’re focusing exclusively on snorkeling experiences that bring you face-to-face with the majestic cetaceans of the region.
Reunions and New Encounters
Expect to be greeted by familiar faces, as part of our Arctic crew, including Alice, Ale, and Diego, will be joining us. River and Taiga are also coming along for the adventure!
The Quest for Orcas
While we hope to encounter the elusive orcas, there are no guarantees in the vast ocean. However, our collaboration with local experts and fishermen maximizes our chances of sightings. Last season, we were fortunate to witness these magnificent creatures about once a week.
Marine Wonders Awaiting Discovery:
Orcas
Thousands of Mobula Rays
Manta Rays
Humpback Whales
Blue Whales
Fin, Sei, and Bryde’s Whales
Whale Sharks
Super pods of Common & Black Coastal Bottlenose Dolphins
Risso Dolphins
Sea Lions
Sea Turtles
Sperm Whales
Our primary goal is to encounter both resident and transient orcas that inhabit these waters. While sightings have become increasingly reliable this time of year, orcas remain a challenge to find. If orcas are your sole interest, you might prefer our Norwegian adventures. However, the Sea of Cortez is a treasure trove of marine life, and we’ll seize every opportunity to engage with the abundant wildlife we encounter.
